Woofin News
More dogs have made their way to their new homes this week including Leo, flek and Petra. Leo and Flek are doing
well but unfortunately Petra was bought back due to her very nervous disposition and never really being socialised in the
outside world, she still feels like some of the human race want to hurt her, but she seems to feel very secure in the company
of the volunteers and the other dogs and a new home will be found fer her when I feel the right person comes along.
As always we have had new dogs come in, hopefully I will be able to get their pictures up on line so you can see them.
Myself and the volunteers did some video footage of the dogs messing around in the paddling pool during the warmer
weather and I will try and see if I can upload some of them onto a website or get a link, I think we got wet the most with
the dogs only wanting to occasionally dip their feet in and having a good drink from the water.
Dates have now been set for the ghost night but at this present time of writing I cannot find the date, so will come
back and post it later but it is now in November. If you want to sponsor any of us, please get in touch, we are trying
to raise enough money to try and become a registered charity for early next year, so please help and start donating.
Cheques can be made payable to T.A.R.R.S.
T.A.R.R.S is being presented with a microchip scanner on Thursday 2nd June by Shottery Dog Training Club which is wonderful
and a great addition to the rescue, more info and photos after the event.
Hope you are all enjoying the sun and remember keep the dogs out of cars, caravans and conservatories:
The dangers
Dogs can suffer from heatstroke, which can be fatal.
Even when it is just 22°C (72°F) outside, the temperature in a car can soar to 47°C (117°F) within 60 minutes.
Open windows or a water bowl make little difference.
Cloud cover can disappear quickly.
All dogs will suffer, but some dogs are more prone to heatstroke. For example, dogs that are old, young, short-nosed,
long-haired, overweight or heavily muscled are more at risk, as well as dogs with certain diseases.
Temperatures in air conditioned cars can reach the same temperature as outside within just five minutes of being turned
off.
